Herzog HGT915/917胶质测定仪旨在测定航空燃料，发动机汽油及其他挥发性馏分中的蒸发残留量，仪器符合ASTM D 381, ISO 6246, EN 5，IP 131和GB/T 8019的测试标准。
HGT 915使用压缩空气测试样品，HGT 917即可以用压缩空气也可以用水蒸汽测试样品。两款型号都可以同时测试3个样品。测试结果可以指示进气系统产生沉积物及进气阀发生粘结的可能。
加热蒸发浴温度在空气模式下出厂设置在大约162ºC，在水蒸气模式下设置232ºC。蒸发温度通过压力调节控制。当需要时，HGT 917还包括一整套蒸汽发生装置以及从空气切换到水蒸汽的装置。
